PRESENTATION
Vallmajor eqüestre for his proximity to the main attractive tourist points of northern Catalunya (Costa Brava, Girona, Dali Museum, Barcelona, etc.) is certainly a good destination for people who during their holidays in the region want to spend some time on horseback.
This program is addressed basically to two different kinds of people. People arriving with own car and pretending to continue or ending the holidays riding good experienced outside horses, and people arriving with low cost airlines companies to Girona for a nice riding experience, and continuing their holiday around the region, renting a car or just returning back home, in both cases they will share our live in a countryside house with all the comfort and nice horses leaving around.
For a very good relation quality-price we want to offer the best service, including a comfortable accommodation, very good food and wine included on meals, transfers and the best adapted horses and riding material, a lot of experience and close contact with the riding guests. We have a group of hoses living together in a natural environment, they are non stressed and they are happy horses, able to give satisfaction to all kind of riders.
Vallmajor eqüestre and the riding area are situated in the Protected Area of Natural Interest of Alta Garrotxa, where for his particular conditions many human actions are not allowed and there are special rules to preserve the nature.
The accommodation is in a very old country house totally restored, with a good access by car and surrounded by fields and forest, rooms with good beds and private bathroom.
The food is based in the traditional Catalan and Mediterranean cooking.
THE PROGRAM: Description, dates and prices.
Monday:
All arrivals on Monday afternoon, in case of transfers we will pick-up all participants at bus/train station Girona. The drive to Vallmajor eqüestre is less than one hour.
Welcome meeting at Vallmajor eqüestre, installation in the house and dinner together with Joaquim, your guide and owner of Vallmajor eqüestre.
People arriving by car will be installed in the house at their arrival (not before 18,00 hours).
Tuesday:
In the morning, after a nice catalan breakfast we will start our riding activities, presenting and choosing the horses and giving some explanations about the rules and the material we are going to use.
We will do two rides, one in the morning and another one in the afternoon with a break at lunch time. After some free time to relax ourselves and our horses, we will start the second ride with a different rhythm to show the things your horses can do in a mountain area. Once at home we always take care of the horses, free time, dinner and accommodation.
Wednesday:
After breakfast we will start a full day ride, with a great landscape, we will go to visit one the most popular parts of Alta Garrotxa cause of is characteristic landscape plenty of cliffs and incredible stone walls. We will stay near the river for our picnic, a river and a place to enjoy, especially when is hot, nice big basins of blue fresh and clean water will invite us to swim at picnic time. The way back home is a nice experience using small hunting trails with no signs of civilisation around. After taking care of the horses and to get time to relax we will go for dinner to a nice local restaurant and back to Vallmajor eqüestre to overnight.
Thursday:
After breakfast we will start a new full day ride, this time we will stay all day in the mountains. Climbing by small paths we will reach the top of a mountain where a old Romanic church strategically situated offer one of most spectacular views of the region, this is our picnic place of the day. On the way back we will enjoy landscapes and we will trot and gallop with our happy horses. After taking care of the horses and to get time to relax we will go for dinner to a nice local restaurant and back to Vallmajor eqüestre to overnight.
Friday:
This is the last catalan copious breakfast and then will be the time to drive you back to Girona or to say goodbye if you are leaving the house with your own car.
